Our inner constellation & outer forms are entirely unique manifestations of life. As cyclical beings, we are each housed within an earth body that constantly renews itself without any conscious effort. The landscape of skin we know today is entirely different than the one you were born with. It is a cellular orchestra of aliveness; a harmonious sensorium of fluid intelligence holding memories of deep time, cast across the entire boundary of an organ-ism named “human”… that which facilitates the felt sense experience known as “I am”.

When you receive a marking in ceremony; you are not only activating & empowering your life-force with sacred intention, but you are making an offering of your most precious bodily resource to spirit. If you choose to presence yourself to the fullness of this rite, it can be one of the most intimate & powerful exchanges you can experience with the mystery.

The ancient Maya created tattoos with the intention to adorn spiritual & physical protection & empowerment upon the wearer. Deities of worship, sacred symbols & animal guides were commonly chosen to be etched on skin, through a slow ritual process which involved painting the designs onto the skin with ink, followed by making incisions. Sacred markings would be given at times of crossing thresholds and the placement on the body would be carefully considered for spiritual significance & empowerment. They symbolised the declaration of claiming one’s identity, beliefs & devotion through a courageous rite of passage.

THE CEREMONY

You will be invited to drink a heart opening ancestral elixir of Ceremonial Cacao; a sacred plant medicine gift from the heart of our Earth mother to assist in attuning your senses to a deeper listening & receptivity.

As the body settles into itself, the breath finding ease & the heart softening, you are invited to explore the infinite source of creativity & love within. As you descend inwardly, your talisman begins takes form on the surface, with declarations & devotions taking place on the altar of your skin. In this liminal space, insights are free to flow through your consciousness, whilst healing energies & frequencies are channeled to initiate & support integration of your experience.
