A traditional Mayan healing ritual; working with the five elements.
Traditional Mayan Medicine is a poetic interplay of Earth & Sky, Body & Spirit.
It is guided by an ancient cosmovision that sees the world as a living, breathing entity. Madre Tierra. Mother Earth. It is a testament to a way of life that honours the past, embraces the present & reveres the cosmos in all of its wonderous & infinite forms of expression.
Central to the Maya cosmovision is the belief in interconnectedness.
The universe, the Earth, & all living beings are bound together in a cosmic dance. Illness of the mind, body or spirit is perceived as a disruption in this intricate web of life, and healing as a restoration of sacred order.
“Since the Limpia, I feel that I am coming home to my truest expression. Creative energy is bursting out of me, in poetry, in art, in ideas about life, the ways we can live and all the ways that love can be expressed.”
What is Limpia?
Cleansing & balancing the energy body.
Limpia is a spiritual cleansing originating from the indigenous peoples of South America & Latin America. It is a form of traditional healing used to purify the body, mind & spirit of negative energies to restore balance.
Key elements of the ritual include sweeping the body with aromatic herbs, the smoke of Copal resin & an unbroken egg. The process is supported by channeled prayers & invocations, to call in ancestral wisdom, divine protection & guidance. Offerings are made to the body & the Earth, to conclude the ritual in gratitude & reciprocity.
How often should I get Limpia?
As often as you feel you need after certain encounters or events. But generally it is recommended to get one every 2-4 months to maintain good energetic hygiene. Consider Limpia as a deep cleanse for your energetic body; a reset to help recalibrate your energy field.
Available from Spring ~ Autumn Equinox.
